Communication skills play a pivotal role in every single aspect of our lives whether it’s personal relationships or professional success. While people typically think of communication forms as verbal, like speaking to each other or written communication, nonverbal communication is also important. From the way you listen, look, move, etc. you are proving that you are listening which increases trust and clarity. When you are able to clearly convey your thoughts, ideas, and emotions people have deep understanding and strong connections. Leaders and people who have strong leadership skills must have strong communication skills. With their proficient skills, they must inspire and motivate their peers to achieve while giving helpful feedback so they have more success and learn from their mistakes. Additionally, communication skills heavily contribute to one’s personal growth and creative expression. These skills allow one to advocate for themself and what they believe in, engage in meaningful conversations, express their opinions and thoughts, share their emotions all while being confident in what they are saying. This has proven to lead to deeper self-awareness and personal development. With technology becoming more prevalent today than ever, being able to communicate to others with different backgrounds and in different parts of the world is critical. There are lots of benefits from strong communication skills including respect, teamwork, empathy, support, confidence, productivity, and, most importantly, trust.
